What stays here, and what leaves.

The course is built so your strategy never leaves your browser. Two things do leave it. Your email, when you choose to give it, and anonymous counts of what people do on the site.

Your strategy

Everything you write in the lessons, the workbook and the tools is saved in this browser, in its local storage. It is never sent to Brighter Future or to anyone else. Clearing your browser data removes it, so save your strategy file from the dashboard. That file holds your strategy and nothing else. It carries no email and no unlock status, so you can hand it to a co-founder.

The two forms

The form that unlocks the tools and the form on the What comes next page send your email, and your name if you give it, to Brighter Future. Signing up adds you to Changemakers, Brighter Future's newsletter on Substack, where new courses and material are announced. Your details are kept while you are subscribed. Unsubscribe from any issue, and email mission@brighterfuture.studio to have them deleted. This browser keeps a note that the tools are unlocked. It does not keep your email.

Anonymous usage counts

The site uses Plausible to count what people do, so the course can be improved from evidence. It counts page views and events such as a lesson opened, a decision saved, an example opened or a strategy exported. Each event carries fixed labels only. A lesson number, the name of the decision, its basis, and a confidence band of low, medium or high. No answers, company names, emails or search terms are sent. Plausible sets no cookies and does not recognise you from one day to the next. This browser keeps a short list of the events it has already counted, so each decision is counted once.

Reporting a problem

The Report a problem link in the footer sends what you write, the page you are on, the course build, your browser and the last technical error, plus your email if you choose to give it. It is used only to fix the problem and is deleted once it is fixed.
