Exercise: write the deep Purpose version

This is the most important lesson in the section, because everything you deploy later is cut from what you write now. You are going to write the deep version of your Purpose Story, and the rules are the ones you know from Part 1.

The same discipline

Write it long and unrefined. The deep version is the quarry, not the deliverable, and most of it will never be used anywhere. Write it private, which means including the things you would never say on a stage: the anger, the doubt, the part of the motivation that is not noble. And write it in three passes, the way the worksheet’s three-pass protocol lays out: first the events, then the meaning, then the admissions. Reach the end of all four parts: Problem, Possibility, Action, Impact.
