Exercise: write the deep Customer version

You are going to write the deep version of your Customer Story, and two things make this one different from the deep versions you have written before.

Inside their world

First, it is written in their voice, not yours, from inside one real customer’s life, never a segment. Use one real person whenever you can, the single customer who feels the pain most acutely and buys first. When the work genuinely serves a diffuse or service audience, a constructed archetype is legitimate, but every detail in it must come from repeated real customer evidence. Never invent specificity to make a composite feel vivid. Henrik, for the record, is a teaching composite built from six real customer patterns inside Clara’s company. Second, it ends at the longing. You write the overload, the sacrifice, the trap, and the longing, and then you stop, with the product nowhere in sight. Otherwise the discipline is the one you know: long, unrefined, honest, and built from real interviews wherever you can manage them.
